We hope all of you out in blogger land are having a great day. It is 8PM here and we are back in Vi Thanh at the hotel. We had an uneventful 5 hour ride here today. About the only thing I can say after now making this trip 3 times is that it is harrowing to say the least. You have never experienced any thing like this in America. The road usually is 2 lane with scores of motorcycles coming at you from all directions. Hong and go!!! That seems to be the custom. Big buses, vans and cars have the right of way. They come up behind the motorcycles and honk continuously until the cycle moves over. Sometimes we miss people by mere inches. The only good thing about it is it keeps my prayer life active. Angie deals with it by sleeping!
We arrived at the baby home at about 3:00 and Jayden came running out to greet us. Jayden and Dat went with us to the hotel for a couple of hours and we picked up where we left off. Jayden is more and more comfortable around us and loves for his mama to kiss him. When we were in the hotel lobby a lady approached Jayden and he was afraid and ran to his mama for protection. That was another very good indication that he knows who he belongs to.
Today we have added pictures of the beautiful restaurant we ate in last night along with pictures of our friends in HCMC. There is one picture that shows our Vitnamese friends dicussing with the waitresses exactly how to prepare the vegetable the way an american would like. They have been such wonderful hosts. They have shown us a Vietnam we could not have seen otherwise. We also have some pictures of some of the unique fruit they have here. One is a grapefruit of sorts which is very good and tonight we were introduced to something that looks like a strawberry with thorns. On the inside the center is jelly-like and very light and tasty. Last night we had a coconut. The top was cut out with a jelly substance inside (congealed). It is made from a seaweed. It too was tasty and unlike any thing we had had before.
I might also mention that you have to take a ferry over in Can Tho. As you are waiting in line in your vehicles to get on the ferry there are people coming up to the windows trying to entice you to buy there products. There are fresh fruits, bottled water, corn on the cob which has been steam cooked (delicious: we had it on two occasions) and some beggers (one blind man and one old lady particularly got our attention.
Well, we are here and hopeful for G&R tomorrow. We are ready to start Jayden on his Journey to America. Please continue to pray for us.
