A great sadness settled over Angie and I just after breakfast this morning. It hit us both at about the same moment. We had eaten all the instant grits. Now in case you are not from the south,
this may not be in the category of a crisis but for this southern boy, life without grits is unthinkable. We did have a good breakfast. Notice the picture of the egg omelette. Now imagine that topped off with grits coffee and toast and you have the perfect breakfast anywhere, especially in Vietnam where we have been eating soup for breakfast.
Today in many ways was a day of rest. Angie hurt the heel of her foot yesterday. Nothing serious, at least not serious enough to see a doctor here. She tore the fascia that extends from the heels to the toes. She has been limping around ever since and it has been very painful. So today it was good that nothing happened much. It gave her time to heal, no pun intended, her foot. Tomorrow it will be better.
So we had company in our suite for 2 hours this morning. Guess Who!!! Jayden and Dat. It was a fun morning. We had them laughing and playing and the memories of what it is like to have a toddler around are all coming back. And just for those of you who think this 53 year old is too old to hang with a toddler, YOU ARE WRONG!!! I will ignore the fact that one of my daughters upon looking at pictures on the blog commented that I looked like a grand-father and need to have my hair colored. I keep getting comments from the workers at the baby home about how much they think Jayden and I are alike; our ears, our skin color, our slim build, our thin lips and did I mention overall good looks.
He really has taken to us and for this we are so happy. He is a very happy little boy with a lot of energy. Inquisitive is an understatement. We know he has been loved by these gracious people at the baby home and Thouc and so he has gotten a great start. We will build on their hard, caring work with him. The one thing he will know for sure is that he is loved. There is a whole network of friends and family waiting to share their hearts and love with him. We are anxious for that to begin.
No G&R today, but progress. Thouc brought over 2 papers to sign, one of which was the application for Jayden's passport. He really thinks tomorrow (Wednesday) is the day.
TOMORROW JAYDEN COULD OFFICIALLY BE OURS!!! I am sure you will hear us shout all the way from Vietnam when the moment happens. Please continue to pray for us and the needed progress so we can return home as scheduled.
Oh and by the way. I understand it is not that expensive to overnight GRITS!!!

Isn't it great? To assimilate into a family? As one who was adopted, I understand, in a small way, your joy...as I remember my parents...and as they reminded me then and still remind me today of how much I was wanted...and how much I am loved.
All of us can have that same adoption through our Lord Jesus Christ...how awesome is that!
Love you both and continuing prayers...

Jayden is beautiful. Hopefully you will get home soon. Jay and Sara are wanting to see their former roomate, and help him to tear down your house. Tell the nurses we say hello. Lara
