What a day this has been. We awoke to another egg omelette, coffee and fruit. As the day was beginning and we had hopes of a G&R there was a knock at the door. I opened and the little girl said, " I sorry. You have to move, not stay in this room today." We were very quickly assisted in moving down the hall to a typical hotel room. Bye Bye Suite!!! They said we could return to the suite tomorrow that the suite was booked today. Well we moved in, begin to unpack and relax and wait on Thouc with good news regarding our G&R. Ironically, this room had internet and a nicer mattress than the suite. The boys came by and played a while. Jayden and Dat were their usual selves. We enjoyed their company and more and more they enjoy ours.
a few hours later, I got a call from downstairs telling me again that we were going to have to move. I was beginning to think we had worn out our welcome. I went downstairs to get clarification and I saw 10-12 army looking guys all with machine guns in the lobby. I asked no questions and went back up stairs. I started repacking and Thouc called and said "stay where you are. You do not have to move." I was totally confused.

Angie and I had a nice lunch in our room and were practically resigned to the fact that G&R was not happening today. Around 4:30 PM Thouc arrived with the boys again and asked if we could keep them while he has dinner. We gladly agreed and the games began again. They are such good natured, fun little boys. Before Thouc left the room he suggested that we stay one more night and if G&R doesn't happen Friday, we would travel the 5 hours back to HCMC for the weekend and come back to the provine for the G&R Monday or Tuesday. OK fine.
He had not been gone 15 minutes when he returns and says, "G&R not happen tomorrow, we leave now for HCMC." Confusion. Total confusion!!! We have been in this village one week and the leader of the province apparently does not think we have any thing else to do. I know we can not expect things to go as we would like them, but this really is inconsiderate. We have jobs, family and responsibilities back home.
Thouc says, G&R will be Monday or Tuesday because there is a time limit between the letter of invitation we were issued and the day of G&R. I can't help but wonder if that really matters.
Anyway, we are here in HCMC again. we will leave Sunday to return to baby home in hopes of our G&R. Obviously this means we will not be coming home on the Ist as planned. My best guess at this time is around the 6th of October. Please continue to pray for us, our patience and our travels. The trip here tonight was hair-raising and I have no hair.
To our church, family and friends, we love you and ask for your understanding. This is out of our hands. I do believe the Oct 6 date is a good bet.
A few more interesting notes. We learned that the reason we had to give up our suite is that the Prime Minister of Honoi was coming to town and staying in the suite. Now I know why the armed guards were there. Also, we passed a parade of official cars with sirens and lights flashing as we were leaving. Thouc said it was the prime minister. I hope he finds everything to his liking.
It is now past midnight. Thouc could not find the hotel he had planned for us to stay in so we are staying in a not so fancy hotel this time. Let me rephrase. God certainly has a sense of humor. We have gone from the heights of hotel living to the depths.
Tomorrow will be a better day.!!! Stay tuned to another adventure along the road called Jaydens Journey.
